Submission Guidelines for Jtindie.com

Here at Jtindie.com we are very interested in receiving content from our subscribers and as so we have written up these guidelines to help you submit your work in a way that makes it possible for us to publish it on our website. We here at Jtindie.com are taken submissions in the following sections CD Reviews, News Articles, and Photos. Below you will find the guidelines for both as well as guidelines for Photos

CD reviews

First off please send a query email to jtindiepodcast@gmail.com so that we can be sure that not more than one person is planning on providing a CD review on the same CD. Once we can be sure you are not doing double duty we will happily accept your CD review for consideration. We are looking for a review that is around 1000 words give or take 300, If it is over 1500 it will have to be exceptional to be accepted.

The rating system for Jtindie.com is a 5 star rating system where you can give out anything from a 1 star to a 5 star with half star increments. please see the following description of what each star means.

1 star
This Cd was pretty bad, poorly made and the songs were poorly performed. A serious lack of talent. It should be rare that any Cd should get only a single star and it is very unlikely that a CD with rating will have it’s review published. No CD put out by Any Record Company no matter how small should rate at a 1

2 star
This is a Cd with one or two good songs but other than that this is a Cd that in now way stands out from the crowd

3 star
This is a solid CD with no major downsides. The kind of Cd you would buy and listen to from time to time.

4 star
This is a really good CD but is has one or two minor problems, such as song order or minor problem with one of the song.

5 star
This is perfection, there is nothing wrong with this CD at all and every song on the CD is a great song in the right order and performed faultlessly. Not only would you listen to this CD again but it is one of your favorite CD’s and has supplanted your last favorite CD as your all time favorite.

News Articles

News articles should, naturally, be about something or someone in the Indie Christian Music Scene. Press releases about Bands being signed or new CD’s being released, Stories of how a band or artist overcame some obstacle. The Important thing is that it should be about something. Also all items in a News Story must be verifiable. This is not a Gossip Page.  Again I would like articles to be under 2000 words.

Once an article is Submitted it can and will be edited for either Grammar, Length, or Content. An article that has been edited will be returned to the author for Final agreement, at this point the Author has the right to pull his article for consideration.

Photos

Photos can be submitted with either a News article or CD Review you must be the rights holder or the photo must of been published under a creative commons copyright with proper attribution given to the creator of the photo. Photos must be of good quality and have some bearing on the news article or CD Review and still may be substituted by the editor at time of publication

Concert Photos

If you attend a Concert and get photos you would like to share on Jtindie.com you can submit the photos to Jtindie.com by Emailing them to jtindiepodcast@gmail.com. By sending the photos to Jtindie.com you are claiming that you are the Copyright Holder (creator) of the Photos and you are granting the photos a Creative Commons, attribution, No Derivatives, 2.5 Us License.
