Purple Door Part 1 – Reilly

Saturday August 15th Mike and I headed out to Lewisberry Pa for the PurpleDoor Music Festival (www.purpledoor.com) now there was just to much going on at the festival for me to go into all the details in on post so I have decided to break it up into several posts, each one dealing with a single band or topic from Purpledoor. This Post is going to be about the Band “Reilly” and how they just blew me away when I saw them perform.

Reilly

The band that made the biggest impression on me was a band I saw on the Gallery Stage. This is the smallest stage of the three and from what I could see this was the stage for the local, indie, smaller bands to play and showcase their talent. The band that pretty much blew me away was Reilly. (www.reillytheband.com) What grabbed my attention was the fact that two of the band members were playing violins (not your usual Rock Concert instrument) What kept my attention was that the band didn’t rely on the violins as some kind of gimmick, and turned out to be talented, passionate people. When I got to chat with them at the Merch table I found that they were great to talk to and unashamed about their faith (something that is refreshing to find, even at a christian music festival) I picked up both of the bands CD’s and will be reviewing the newest one “Let June Decide” here in the near future. I can only hope that their touring will bring them closer to Pittsburgh so I can get to hear them again.
